Nick WrightManaging Director
Nick founded Mountain Trauma Rescue Services in 2006 and since then it has developed into the mature, professional business it is today. Nick uses his clinical skills as a paramedic and his passion for remote area healthcare and mountain rescue to design and deliver the range of courses MedSkills Academy have to offer. He holds a PGCert in Academic Practice and is heavily involved in curriculum development in the prehospital setting. In his spare time Nick enjoys trail running, cycling, mountaineering and walking his lively springer collie cross, Japser.
Dr Will JonesMedical Advisor
Will is a Consultant Anaesthetist at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. He holds the Diploma in Mountain Medicine (UIAA). He is an Instructor for Advanced Trauma Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support – Instructors Course, Pre Hospital Trauma Life Support, Training in Emergency Airway Management and EMS – Difficult Airway Course. He is also a Trainer for the Medical Emergency Response Incident Teams. Will was a co-author in Workforce Planning in UK Mountain Rescue, published in Wilderness & Environmental Medicine (March 2014). Will is actively involved in the outdoors and is a keen skier, climber and more recently ultra marathon runner.
Simon WorthClinical Tutor
Simon works as a front-line Paramedic for the NHS and has a significant background within the pre-hospital environment, including being a SAR winchman and serving for over a decade within Mountain Rescue; as well as having been a qualified search and rescue dog handler. Simon is also an Associate Paramedic lecturer on a BSc. degree program, where he is in the unique position of taking his students from the classroom and working alongside them in a frontline capacity. Prior to joining the NHS, Simon was a university lecturer, with over a decade of academic experience, and has taught students up to Masters level. He also is a holder of ALS/NLS/PHTLSi/MIMMS/MERIT/swift-water rescue tech/rope-rescue tech/mountain leader certification and is currently in the final stages of a Critical Care Practitioner MSc.

Dr Doug DaviesClinical Tutor
Doug started his prehospital career as a volunteer on a busy mountain rescue team before joining the ambulance service and qualifying as a paramedic with a first class honours degree. He was lucky enough to work in a huge variety of settings and roles. Doug subsequently went on to study medicine and qualified as a doctor. Now working toward a career in anaesthetics with a sub speciality in pre-hospital Care. He continues to practice in the pre-hospital environment and is currently the training officer for BASICS North West. Doug has a passion for teaching and promoting high quality pre-hospital care.
